Our owners offer a combined 60 years in both the construction and horticulture industries. After several years of working with growers in the vegetable production space and green industry, they launched their 30’ gothic-style hoop house.
We are a team of fabricators and builders located in Manchester, Michigan.
Joe, co-owner
Joe is a native Michigander, with a college background in horticulture. He owned and operated a design build company for 25 years until deciding it was time for a change. With a passion for improving the food system and helping local farming, he pursued a career in High Tunnel construction. After being operations manager for an established High Tunnel company, and meeting his now partner Randy, decided to branch out and form Manchester High Tunnels. He is dedicated to bringing farmers of all types the very best high tunnels the market has to offer, with a build team to match that quality.
Randy, co-owner
Randy was a self employed developer for close to 20 years in the construction industry. He began to nurture a passion for sustainable and environmentally responsible construction. After involvement in various urban agriculture projects, his interest in local food sustainability grew and in 2016, started “Grow Detroit”, a design and manufacturing company specializing in High Tunnels. He now is co-owner of Manchester High Tunnels, and hopes to further innovate and assist in sustainable farming through the utilization of High Tunnels.
Our Facility
All our high tunnels are manufactured in-house in our Manchester, Michigan facility. We stand behind the quality product we produce and invite you to schedule an appointment and tour our facility.
